Reports Man City had been agreed with Roma for Edin Dzeko appear to be accurate as, and usually when they say it you know it’s pretty accurate, the BBC are saying a deal is all but done.

City, who signed Dzeko for £27m when bringing him to the Etihad Stadium will offload him to Roma at a considerable loss with a £14m fee agreed to take him to Serie A.

Yes, this is a loss or ‘cut price deal’ as some have branded it but his wages are taken off the wage bill and it’ll be better to accept this fee than leave him languishing as part of the squad when Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t really want him.

Personally speaking I don’t view this as a ‘cut price’ deal as such anyway, ideally we would have wanted something around the £20m mark, which it was reported at first we could get, but £14m for a 29-year-old isn’t exactly a bad return, is it?

I’ve little doubt that the Bosnia-Herzegovina international; who signed an extended four-year deal last summer of course, will fire with the Italian side but what can you do!
