Manchester City travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon and Pep Guardiola isn’t likely to have Kyle Walker available as the 32-year-old hasn’t fully recovered from injury.

Walker missed training ahead of City’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund and wasn’t in the matchday squad as Guardiola’s men ran out 2-1 winners at the Etihad Stadium, so it’s hard to see him making an appearance just days later.

After Wolves, City have an international break to contend with, so Walker’s next outing is likely to come in early October. The 32-year-old, who has made seven appearances this season, picked up the knock in City’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa and has now been absent for nearly two weeks.

Guardiola covered Walker’s absence against Dortmund by naming John Stones at right-back, so he has plenty of options in his stead. City need not rush him back to fitness as they only one fixture to play until their Manchester derby on October 2.

Walker can’t be too far away from making a recovery, however, as he was named in the England squad ahead of their internationals with Italy and Germany, but the Wolves meeting may have come too soon.
