Wednesday saw the meeting of two champions, City of course premier league winners and Sporting Kansas City the MLS champions as our US tour started with an impressive win.

City running out 4-1 winners at Sporting Park in front of over 18,000 fans.

It took just three-minutes for midfielder Bruno Zuculini to open the scoring as he fired home from 20-yards Kansas were level on the half hour mark when CJ Sapong made no mistake from close range to beat Willy Caballero, with the new City ‘keeper making some good saves as the game unfolded.

Stevan Jovetic and Scott Sinclair both had chances to restore the lead before Dedryck Boyata headed home a Jesus Navas cross on the stroke of half time to send City in two-one up at the break.

A little under 20-minutes from time with Sinclair brought Aleks Kolarov was given the chance from the spot and he made no mistake with his penalty making it three Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho making an impressive debut with a goal two-minutes from time to round off the four-one win.
