Manchester City executive chairman Garry Cook hopes to bring in at least two more players before the transfer deadline.
As of Wednesday 21 January 2009, the club has captured Wayne Bridge, (Chelsea) Craig Bellamy (West Ham) and Nigel de Jong (Hamburg) in deals just short of £40million, nevertheless Cook doesn’t want to stop there.
‘We had very clear plans going into this transfer window and we are ticking the boxes as we go,’ Cook told the club’s official website.
‘There are a couple of others that we are still working on. As yet, there is nothing more to report – but overall we have had a good transfer window.’
Prior to the January transfer window opening City were purported to be wanting at least five new faces. With three already signed up I wonder who the others will be?
