As the confirmation slowly emerges through the Italian media that City never actually made an offer for AC Milan’s Kaka, the hacks attentions are turning to London…
Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sera have both confirmed what many Blues suspected all along outside of the drooling hacks, certain pontificating football figures and seething rival fans we’ve had to put up with this past week that City didn’t table a bid for Kaka despite hours of negotiations.
They really all have been as utterly ‘Berlus-conned’ as City were, albeit by believing everything the Italian master manipulator spun out. The AC Milan owner has managed to engineer a morale boosting renaissance at his club almost overnight.
Nevertheless, the English hacks press on with their lazy moralising to the extent that ‘humiliated’ City are now ‘desperate’ in their search for superstar signings.
Some hacks have been so unremittingly unprofessional in their condemnation over the ‘£100 million bid that never was’ to the extent that they come across as rival fans jeering from behind stewards on a match day. It’s really been that bad. There’s one particular freelance called Michael Henderson who’s overstepped the mark for The Torygraph this morning if you want an example. A case of rank bad editing, that one getting through.
Meanwhile City’s ‘desperate’ quest to ‘ruin football’ is now reported to be taking the club to London and Chelsea’s door again.
Chelski’s ex Marseille for £24 million striker Didier Drogba who is alledged to be out of favour with Felipe Scolari is now the latest to be ‘linked’ with us.
City’s Executive Chairman Garry Cook has already openly admitted that The Blues have a bid on the table for Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz. Certainly Drogba, three years his senior has a far better goal scoring record, but surely his situation at Chelski hasn’t become that untenable?! Maybe our pals at Vital Chelsea can give us a shout?

Meanwhile, revelations widely ignored by most sporting journalists, but one that City fans can take great comfort in, are that City, in line with their pulling out of a bid for Kaka have also walked away from negotiations over Gianluigi Buffon, Lassana Diarra and David Villa because of the very same ‘ludicrous’ asking prices, salaries and agents fees demanded that City have been pilloried for ‘offering’ on a daily basis.
A football match for us all to concentrate on can’t come along quick enough.
With Wayne Bridge, Craig Bellamy and Nigel De Jong all guaranteed starts at home to Newcastle next Wednesday on the back of some real hate aimed at our club, we can expect to see a City side primed and ready to fight back.
Here’s to them ramming a tidal wave of slurs back down the throats that they came from that night.
