Clubs must pay £42.7m and £90k p/w wages for 25 y/o Man City man after ‘pact’ was agreed

Gabriel Jesus is out of contract in 2023, is unhappy about a lack of playing time under Pep Guardiola and has a host of suitors willing to sign him this summer, so a departure from Manchester City looks on the cards.

The 25-year-old has been a brilliant servant for the Sky Blues, scoring 95 goals with 46 assists from 236 games, but Guardiola has said publicly that he won’t keep a player against their will.

Marca (h/t The Sun) say City have a ‘pact’ with Jesus from years ago that he’d be sold for €50m (£42.7m), so a move could be on the cards if suitors match his asking price.

And if a club can get to negotiating personal terms with Jesus, they’ll need to offer him a contract over £90k-per-week. Arsenal are believed to have tabled an offer that would double Jesus’ salary, so it remains to be seen how much money it will take to land his signature.

It would be sad to see Jesus leave, but Pep Guardiola must take the blame for his things have turned out. The Brazilian international has played in makeshift role out wide and could find himself behind Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez next season, so the writing is on the wall.
