It’s reported today that a £12million fee has now been agreed by Manchester City over long term target Fernando.

Having chased the player in the last January window, only to see it fall down, it’s been said that City were in no rush to wrap up the deal for the midfielder, but apparently now progress has been made and a deal has been struck that could see him unveiled later this week.

The Mirror suggest that the £12million upfront fee has now been struck, and that Porto will receive a further £4million in add ons as and when they become appropriate.

The 26 year old is said to now be heading to Manchester for a medical ahead of the i’s being dotted and the t’s crossed on the deal, and Manuel Pellegrini believes he’s the perfect player to take some of the burden off Yaya Toure and Fernandinho.

As for the signing of Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna, it’s believed that deal has now been done and dusted, we just have to wait until July 1st for the official announcement when his current deal expires.
