Emmanuel Adebayor appears to be happy to return for pre-season training with Manchester City and here’s me thinking we might have seen the last of him.

Hopes were raised when this time last year Real Madrid took the 27-year-old striker on loan, however, now it appears any possible transfer deal with the Spanish club has gone cold.

The latest news to brighten up my spirits was when Russian club Zenit St Petersburg came sniffing but now the Togo international has turned them down.

Talking about the possible move Adebayor said…

“If I have to go to Man City, I will do that with pleasure and if I have to stay in Madrid, I will stay with pleasure. What is important is I want to play. But I want to make it clear there is no chance of me going to Zenit.”

“I love the country but I don’t think I can see myself playing in Russia. I don’t have anything to prove to anybody in football.”

“I have scored important goals and played in big games so for me, in my head, I don’t have any pressure at all.”

By all accounts Marseille could yet make a move for the overrated (Bambi-on-ice look-alike when he runs with the ball) forward.
