Long tipped to become the Swedish national side’s replacement for the brilliant Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the bustling 21 year old was cruelly struck down with a debilitating virus following a stunning loan phase in the 2011-2012 season with Feyenoord during which he realised 20 goals in 23 games.
Having beaten the virus then suffered a knee injury earlier this year which required minor surgery, Guidetti is currently training at Carrington ahead of the summer re-assembly of Pellegrini’s squad on Friday.
