Goalkeeper Joe Hart has said that Manchester City will be giving it everything and will give it ‘a right go’ in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
On the back of the two one home defeat in the two legged affair, Hart was interviewed immediately after the match and he explained.
‘I hope our second half efforts are worth something. We’ll go there with a great group of fans, belief and we’ll have a right go. We regrouped second half, put them under a lot of pressure and we were good for a goal and maybe good for a result tonight.’
Luis Suarez obviously came in for praise in the quick interview given the way the questions came at our England man, and he said.
‘He’s a fantastic player. What did they sign him for? £80million? What do you expect? He took his goals well, we controlled them well apart from the two goals.’
Pressed further, a cynic would say his interview was designed to get him to concede the occasion got to us and create some juicy headlines – but Hart wasn’t having that.
‘The occasion did not get to us, sometimes things go against you. It is 2-1 and we go there with belief.’
That was a sentiment echoed by Sergio Aguero who took to social media after the game where he vowed we’d ‘fight until the end’ in the second leg.
‘It’s not the result we wanted but the tie is still unfinished. And as usual we’ll fight till the end. C’mon City!’
