Manchester City wrapped up their training tour of Scotland by righting the Dundee result and taking a two one victory over Hearts.

It was a good tough workout in front of 12,188 fans and similar to the Dundee match, manager Manuel Pellegrini took the opportunity to field almost two completely different sides in each half.

With fitness issues certainly telling in our previous friendly, the work the players put in during training between the two games certainly showed it’s own benefits, as in both halves City were sharper and much more on the pace this time out.

Hearts kept us deadlocked until the 25 minute when Alvaro Negredo played a little reverse pass through to Scott Sinclair and he calmly slotted past the keeper.

Pellegrini made ten changes at the break, with goal scorer Sinclair the only one to return to the pitch, and our opposition got themselves level 15 or so minutes after the restart.

With the half wearing on though, City came into it more and started to dominate better and create more chances, and Emyr Huws proved to be the difference ten minutes from time when he won us a penalty.

Aleksandar Kolarov stepped up and dispatched the ball into the back of the net to earn us a deserved victory on the day.

Hearts:

Alexander (Hamilton 70), Paterson, McHattie, Wilson (McGhee 75), Ozturk (McKay 70), Gomis (Oliver 75), Walker (Holt 56), Bauben (Robinson 59), Sow (D Smith 56), Carrick (Keatings 56), Nicholson (King 16).

City first-half:

Wright, Richards, Leigh, Nastasic, Rekik, Garcia, Zuculini, Sinclair, Nasri, Navas, Negredo.

City second-half:

Caballero, Bossaerts (Clichy 72), Kolarov, Denayer, Boyata, Rodwell, Fernando, Sinclair, Huws, Jovetic, Guidetti.

Attendance: 12,118.
