Kyle Walker missed Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday and hadn’t trained earlier in the week, so he was a doubt going into Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pep Guardiola recently revealed the 32-year-old will likely miss the weekend encounter as he’s not quite recovered, so Walker shouldn’t turn out for City until after the international break.

He said in Friday’s pre-match press conference: “Kyle is getting better, but I am not sure if he is ready for (Saturday’s game). We will see (Friday afternoon).” After Wolves, City’s next game is in early-October, so Walker should be 100% by then.
The England international has made seven appearances in all competitions this season, but he’s missed City’s last two games after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa two weeks ago.
What’s surprising is that Walker has been called up for international duty this month despite still being injured, but it remains to be seen how much he’ll feature for the Three Lions.
