Journalist says there’s a ‘real possibility’ of £100m player joining Manchester City

Harry Kane looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur when the summer transfer window opens and Manchester City are one of many clubs interested.

Pep Guardiola needs a replacement for Sergio Aguero and Kane is more than good enough to fill his shoes, but there was the question of whether they’d match his lofty asking price.

City correspondent Ian Cheeseman, however, said on Twitter that there is a ‘real possibility’ of a £100m deal happening that could see Kane making the switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero has scored 260 goals in 389 games for City, so he won’t be easy to replace. But with Kane boasting 221 goals in 336 games for Tottenham, he’d be able to take on the scoring burden.

Spurs are keen to keep the 27-year-old in North London, but Kane has said he wants talks with Daniel Levy at the end of the season and isn’t committing his future to the club publicly.

City could capitalise on the situation by offering Kane an escape route and could use their impressive trophy haul as a way to lure him to Manchester, especially after seeing former teammates Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Christian Eriksen win league titles away from Tottenham.
