With Manchester City only having two first choice keepers, shot stopper Joe Hart relishes the thought of boss Mark Hughes bringing in another top class goalie.

Hart, who played in the first half of Saturday’s friendly in Hamburg, told the official Man City website…

‘Everything is a challenge, most Premier League clubs and especially the big ones like ourselves need strength in depth. A third goalkeeper goes without saying; I think we definitely need one.’

‘Obviously we are in a position where we can bring in better players, but you have to believe in yourself, and that’s what I do.’

‘Whoever they might bring in, I would back myself. I want to keep enjoying my football, but the only way I can do that is if I am playing. That’s what I want to do, I want to establish myself at Manchester City and keep going.’

Reports suggest City came close to signing Blackburn Rovers veteran keeper Brad Friedel, however, the 37 year-old former American international decided to play out his final three years as a professional footballer picking splinters out of his behind whilst sat on the Aston Villa bench.

Good luck Mr Friedel!
