Stevan Jovetic has responded to reports that he was set to return to Italy this summer to join Inter Milan.
An injury disrupted season ended with him as the fourth choice striker at City in the end but talk of him leaving England with is tail between his legs to return to familiar surrounds of Italy to sign for Inter are not on his mind.
He’s admitted that he wasn’t at his best last season and hadn’t ‘really performed’ but he feels that he has plenty more to offer and isn’t looking to move on.
Jovetic has been quoted as telling Turkish Radio: ‘I will not leave City the club has not seen my real game yet.
‘It is true that Jovetic has yet to really perform for the Sky Blues, but he has also not had too much of an opportunity.’
Nothing like talking in the third person!
Jovetic was able to show, at times, what he can do. With that first season out of the way, and a better one with fewer injuries next time could still see him have a big role to play at the Etihad, well I think this anyway.
