Bernardo Silva has an uncertain future at Manchester City after admitting he’s weighing up leaving for another project when the season comes to a close. The 28-year-old will have talks with City over the summer and it’s possible he could end his six-year stay at the Etihad Stadium for the right club.
Kylian Mbappe would like that to be Paris Saint-Germain. According to Martin Blackburn of The Sun, the 24-year-old wants to renew acquaintances with Bernardo Silva who he played with at AS Monaco. Silva was keen on a move to Barcelona in 2021 and 2022, so it remains to be seen if he’ll return to France.
The Portuguese international joined City in 2017 and has gone on to make 280 appearances in all competitions, scoring 50 goals with 56 assists. He’s gone on to become one of the best central midfielders under Pep Guardiola but has looked human this season.
Vital Man City pondered whether rumours over his City future were affecting performances on the pitch, as Silva hasn’t scored in the Premier League since August and doesn’t have an assist since October.
The 28-year-old has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal and isn’t likely to sign an extension at City, so this coming summer might be the Sky Blues’ last chance to extract maximum value from his sale. Will PSG make a move though?
