Man City face battle to sign £56.7m-valued colossus as CL giants step up chase – Report

|

According to an exclusive update courtesy of le10sport, Paris-Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has made Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a ‘priority‘ target as well as AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer – giving Man City a potential battle to sign the 6ft 3 powerhouse.

Milinkovic-Savic, starting 24 Serie A games for current club Lazio, has recently been on City’s radar as per le10sport, with Real Madrid, PSG, Man United and the Sky Blues all in the race for his signature.

Would Milinkovic-Savic be a welcome addition at Eastlands?

Yes, sign him up Txiki

No

Valued at £56.7 million by Transfermarkt, the Serbian midfield colossus has won 3.6 aerial duels per game on average in the league, more than any City player has this season according to WhoScored.

Judging by these impressive numbers, Milinkovic-Savic would be an imposing figure in central midfield, but with PSG now allegedly making the 25-year-old one of their ‘priority’ signings this summer, City face a battle for his signature.

Just last summer we signed Rodrigo for a club-record £62.8 million, with there now being a debate over whether we will prioritise Milinkovic-Savic given our quality in the middle of the park.

However, if we do indeed bid for the midfielder, there’s little arguing he would add quality – especially considering he has drawn comparisons with past City fan favourite Yaya Toure in the past.

The Ligue 1 champions, seemingly our main competitors for the player, have apparently already drawn a a €60 million (£54.2 million) offer for his services – with the only question being whether City will match that bid in future.

Only time will tell, but it looks like Txiki Begiristain and co face a battle to bring him to Eastlands.
