Manchester City make the trip to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the early kick-off on Saturday and Pep Guardiola has a few decisions to make with his squad. The Sky Blues beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Wednesday’s Champions League group game, but a number of players underperformed and might be dropped as a result.

Riyad Mahrez is at risk of losing his starting place after a disappointing showing in midweek. The 31-year-old failed to register a shot, create a chance or whip in an accurate cross before being hooked in the second by Guardiola, so he hasn’t justified selection on Saturday. Mahrez hasn’t been at the races all season either.

The Algerian international has made eight appearances in all competitions this campaign, failing to score or register an assist. Mahrez is 6th in the squad for chances created (1 per game on average), 12th for successful dribbles (0.4 per game on average), 7th for shots on target (0.2 per game on average) and 3rd for accurate crosses (1 per game on average), so he’s not firing on all cylinders.

Guardiola has played Mahrez in all but one of City’s nine games, but he might have him on the bench this weekend.
