Manchester City aren’t short of playmakers with Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva at their disposal, but the Daily Mail say Pep Guardiola is an ‘admirer’ of Jack Grealish and would like to lure him away from Villa Park this summer.

The 25-year-old has impressed at Aston Villa this season, scoring six goals and making 10 assists in 22 Premier League games (WhoScored), so he’s bagged more than De Bruyne (5) and has created more than Raheem Sterling (6) (Transfermarkt).

Grealish has also made two assists in five caps for England, so his reputation couldn’t be higher right now. It’s why Villa want £100m from suitors this summer, so it remains to be seen if City will have any success in landing his signature.

The 25-year-old can operate in Sterling’s role and as a central attacking-midfielder, so he’s somewhat versatile. He’s made 27 tackles, blocked 19 shots/passes/crosses, won 25/50 aerial duels and made 11 interceptions, so he’s not afraid to do his defensive duties.

It’s easy to see why City are keen on Grealish, but he has four years remaining on his deal and might be difficult to attain as a result.
