Report: Man City ‘consider’ £150m-rated 215-goal man to replace Sergio Aguero on one condition

Manchester City would prefer Erling Haaland to replace Sergio Aguero this summer, but The Times say they ‘will consider’ Harry Kane too. The 27-year-old is reportedly open to a move away from Tottenham Hotspur as he’s disillusioned over the club’s direction.

City would like to capitalise on the situation by luring Kane to the Etihad Stadium if they can’t land Haaland’s signature. Aguero has scored 257 goals in 384 games for the Sky Blues (Transfermarkt), so he won’t be an easy player to replace.

Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are among City’s transfer targets that have prolific scoring records like Aguero, but Kane might be more attainable. The England international has scored 215 goals in 327 games for Spurs and 34 in 53 games for the national team (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham are desperate to keep their academy graduate in North London, but they might grant him a departure if his £150m asking price is met. Kane hasn’t publicly suggested he wants a move away from Spurs, but he’s also admitted wanting to win trophies in his career.

City wouldn’t let Aguero leave on a free transfer this summer if they weren’t confident of signing a striker that can fill his shoes, but it remains to be seen if it’s Kane.
