Manchester City are expected to sign Dario Sarmiento from Estudiantes in the coming days and the Manchester Evening News say Diego Rosa could follow. The 18-year-old has said his goodbyes to Gremio and is expected to make the switch in January.
Man City will pay an initial £2.6m to the Brazilian outfit and another £1.75m when the winter transfer window opens. MEN say the Sky Blues must pay £3.5m if Rosa is promoted to the first-team and another £4m for every 10 first-team games he plays (up to 30). City will also send Gremio another £0.8million in January 2022. The whole package is worth £20.65m.
Rose has represented Brazil at U16 (3 caps) and U17 level (11 caps, 2 goals) while already being called up to the U20s, so it’s clear he has great potential. The 18-year-old played in the U17 World Cup in 2019 and scored two goals in five games as Brazil won the tournament.
He’s currently playing for Gremio’s B team and will likely teeter between City’s U18s and U23s upon his arrival in Manchester.
