Report: Man City ‘edging closer’ to signing £100m man after ‘agreeing personal terms’

|

Manchester City have been trying to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for months and Football Insider believe they’ve finally made progress. The Sky Blues are reportedly ‘edging close’ to bringing in the 25-year-old after ‘agreeing personal terms’, but it remains to be seen what price they’re paying.

Villa have told suitors that it will cost in excess of £100m to sign Grealish, so it’s unknown whether City can meet his asking price if they’re getting Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the same transfer window. Grealish hasn’t shone any public desire to leave this summer either, so fans won’t be panicking yet.

The England international has made 213 appearances in all competitions for Villa, scoring 32 goals with 43 assists. He enjoyed the best top-flight return of his career last season, contributing 18 goals from 26 Premier League games, which resulted in him representing the national team at Euro 2020.

Grealish is undoubtedly one of the best playmakers in Europe right now who would be open to moving up the ladder, but there is no guarantee City can put up the money required to sign him when Kane is the bigger priority.
