Report: Man City could pay £150m and £80m in wages to sign 220-goal striker

There may be a bidding war for Harry Kane this summer as he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur when the season comes to a close, but The Sun say Manchester City have competition for his signature from Manchester United.

City are willing to pay £150m for Kane and could offer him £80m in wages, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be successful in their pursuit as United aren’t giving up.

Kane has scored 220 goals in 334 games for Tottenham and has bagged more than 20 league goals in five of his seven seasons in the first-team. He’s a prolific centre-forward who could fill Sergio Aguero’s shoes, but there are a lot of obstacles standing in City’s way of luring him to the Etihad Stadium.

Daniel Levy is determined to keep Kane and doesn’t want to sell him to a Premier League rival, but the biggest clubs overseas don’t appear to have the resources to sign Kane. Barcelona are in a lot of debt and the pandemic has worsened the situation. Real Madrid are also in financial difficulty, so it remains to be seen if the pair have £150m for one player.
