Moonchester – Situation No Longer Vacant?

When Danny Mills finally left the club this summer after an extraordinary amount of time on the sidelines many of us worried who would take on the Moonchester role…

Well, you can hear the groans of City’s medical staff from miles around as it’s revealed that Benjani’s thigh injury will not go away and he’s out of football for another six weeks.

City’s squad this decade has been plagued with plenty of experienced ‘sicknotes,’ Claudio Strainer, Tricky Trev and Millsy spring to mind.

31 year old Benjani joined us 19 months ago and has made a pisspoor 21 starts in all competitions. At least he only signed a 2 and a half year deal.

He was close to signing this summer for Hull City and West Ham United on loan. Notts County are rumoured to be interested and Pompey have openly stated they want him, but all that can go for a Burton Albion now while the big Zimbabwean aims to get fit.

By all accounts, he’s a right nice bloke but as the forgotten man of Mark Hughes’ 24 man squad, he’s surely doomed to Eastlands touchline slapstick buffoonery unless his agent can get him out of town.
