Report: Man City may have to pay £25.6m and £900k-per-week wages for 674-goal forward

Manchester City have Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez at their disposal, but Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness) say they’re still on the hunt for another forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on City’s radar, but it remains to be seen whether he’d really join the rivals of his former club Manchester United, let alone the Sky Blues lodging an official bid to sign him.

Corriere dello Sport believe Juventus could accept a bid of €30m (£25.6m) as it would see them make back their money on Ronaldo. The 36-year-old takes home a lofty £900k-per-week in wages, however, so he’d smash City’s wage structure if brought in.

Ronaldo has played for Sporting, Man Utd, Real Madrid and Juve, scoring 674 career goals in 894 games. The Portuguese international boasts 109 goals in 179 games for his country too, so he would improve City’s squad.

But Corriere dello Sport note that there is friction between Ronaldo and Pep Guardiola from their time in La Liga at rival clubs, so time will tell if a deal ever gets over the line.
