Report: Man City request meeting with Boca Juniors over 19 y/o scouted for 6 months

Manchester City aren’t short of forwards with Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva, but Bola Vip (h/t Sport Witness) say City Football Group are looking to bring a wide-man – Exequiel Zeballos who’s been scouted for more than six months.

The Premier League defending champions recently brought in Julian Alvarez from River Plate and have Boca Juniors’ Valentin Barco on their radar, but Bola Vip believe they’re after another Argentine in Zeballos and have requested a meeting with Boca to discuss his availability.

The 19-year-old has risen through the youth ranks to the first-team at the Estadio Alberto J. Armando and has gone on to make 17 appearances, scoring one goal with one assist. Zeballos isn’t yet a regular under Sebastián Battaglia, but he’s had opportunities from the bench and makes the matchday squad without fail.

With the Argentine youth international yet to nail down a starting place at Boca, he’s unlikely to make waves in Manchester. But if Zeball is signed to be part of the City Football Group, he might be sent to New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama F. Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Girona FC, Sichuan Jiuniu, Mumbai City FC, Lommel SK, Esperance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne or Club Bolivar to continue his development.
