Report: Man City will work with agent to broker deal for 21 y/o with 129 goals

Manchester City have wanted Erling Haaland for the longest time but were put off working with agent Mino Raiola. The 54-year-old is the 21-year-old’s representative and had requested £47m in agent fees plus a lofty contract worth £21.3m a year.

City weren’t overly keen on matching those demands and were considering not working with Raiola on any future deals for players, but Sport (h/t Sport Witness) they’re going to make a U-turn on that decision so they can push for Haaland.

The Norwegian international has scored 129 goals with 34 assists in 172 games – 80 goals in 79 games for Borussia Dortmund (January 2020 – present). Haaland, who boasts 12 goals in 15 games for his country, will be available for €75m (£62.7m) at the end of the season, so a lot of clubs are expected to make an approach.

City have made signing a striker this summer a priority as they’ve so-far failed to replace Sergio Aguero, so the Premier League leaders may be willing to spend a lot of money for Haaland. The 21-year-old is already one of the best strikers in Europe with one of the best scoring records, so he may be worth every penny.
