Reserve Round Up

Two heavy defeats in the Pontins league; away to Rochdale at Rossendale where the City defence was breached five times and only a late penalty from James Poole was all that City could muster. City managed to reduce the minus goals to four when bottom of the table Blackpool visited the athletics arena but City saw Shaleum Logan stretchered off with a broken leg; his adaptable quality will be sorely missed in the coming months.

A defeat is always hard to bear, its even harder when its against the Trafford Buccaneers. Our cause was not helped when there was a late omission of Daniel Sturridge which seems strange as Sturridge’s hamstring injury was already known. United took the lead in the 35th minute and although City dominated possession for large portions of the game, the lack of a goalscorer hampered our resolve to breach the United defence.

City’s home game with Oldham in the Pontins League has been brought forward 24 hours to Tuesday 19th with a 7pm kick off.
