Snapping Up The Kids At The Right Age

The arrival of Patrick Roberts, who apparently rejected Liverpool to join City from Fulham on Sunday, has sparked much debate but this is a move CITYBOY1000 is very happy with.

Commenting in the VMC forum they said.

I’m glad to see we are snapping up the kids at the right age. He’s honed his technique somewhere else, he’s hungry for success and has probably been living on pocket money for the past 10 years. He looks good and 18 is a good guide as to where he might end up if he keeps his eye on the ball so to speak. He seems to have very good close control which he can maintain whilst running at pace. Good balance as well.

Anyway, we’ll see. We’ve seen them all before and where are they now ? This one at least is likely to have a bit of grit about him and I don’t think we splash out £11 million (£5 million plus £6 million based on performances) that often.

I’ll guess the OS won’t highlight his arrival to keep the pressure off him. He’s probably going to be another Denayer, spend 1 year with the EDS to ‘bond’ with the club and then out on loan to Celtic or somewhere for a year, have a good look at him and then decide whether to offer him a more lucrative deal.
