Spanish media claim Man City player is ‘angry’ at Pep Guardiola and could ‘trigger departure’

Erling Haaland has only been at Manchester City for eight months, scoring an impressive 31 goals with three assists from 27 games in all competitions this season, but Dani Serrano of El Nacional says the 22-year-old has ‘anger’ at Pep Guardiola and could ‘trigger a departure’.

Serrano claims that Haaland has become disillusioned at City due to their style of play. The Norwegian international doesn’t have a lot of touches in games, even though he’s consistently scoring, so he might be considering his future in Manchester.

Haaland makes 13.8 passes per game which is the lowest average for a regular first-teamer, but there’s no suggestion he’s unhappy with how his time is going at City. The 22-year-old is surely pleased to be leading the scoring charts in the big five European leagues and contributing so many of City’s goals.

And while Serrano claims that Real Madrid are showing an interest in Haaland, they have no chance of signing him so soon into his City career. The Norwegian international has four-and-a-half-years remaining on his deal at the Etihad and a €200m release clause that won’t become active until 2024, so nothing is happening this summer.
