Pep Guardiola said during a recent press conference that he and the club were looking to bring in a possible two new recruits during this summer’s transfer window.

The media are always looking for news stories, especially speculation surrounding which new player could / would fit with Pep’s philosophy.
Based on the above I’ve had a little look around various outlets just to see what news is worthy. I am not going to bother with what I think is total claptrap.

Tomas Lemar

‘Manchester City are preparing a bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar, according to reports.
‘But the Telegraph reports that City will deal a huge blow to their Premier League title rivals by entering the race for his signature.
‘Lemar, has two years left on his Monaco deal and is likely to leave at the end of the season.’
The 22-year-old France in international is classed as two-footed, albeit he’s slightly better with his left. The Monaco midfielder is more then capable of playing on both wings as well as through the centre in a free role.
In addition the lad is noted for his excellent dribbling skills, strong passing ability and free kicks.

‘Pep Guardiola is certain to land Fred in the summer, according to the Brazilian`s former manager.
‘And former Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu insists the deal will happen.
‘Shakhtar Donetsk’s best player is Fred in the centre of midfield,” he said. ‘He was a bit anarchic on the left. I moved him in front of the defence.’
‘He will go to City like Fernandinho before him.’

Some outlets suggested today contradict this story and say this deal could be dead in the water.

In my opinion this story is a crock of ****. He’s too old and will finish his playing days in Spain.
