Vital Man City have recently shone a light on some promising talents in the Manchester City academy, naming Carles Borges as the next Raheem Sterling and Oscar Bobb as the next Bernardo Silva, but Pep Guardiola might also have the next Riyad Mahrez already at the club.

Adedire Mebude is making waves in the reserves this season and looks to have a bright future after shining in the academy a year before. The 18-year-old, who is a right-winger, has a great eye for goal and racks up just as many assists, so could he fill the shoes of Mahrez in years to come?

Mebude is a London-born Scottish youth international who joined City from Rangers in 2020. Described by the club as a ‘skilful forward with blistering pace’, the teenager has scored 15 goals with 19 assists from 30 games for the U18s, scored one goal with one assist from three games for the U19s and scored four goals with one assist from 11 games for the U21s.

Last season, Mebude had a hand in 31 goals in the U18 Premier League, so he was promoted that summer and hasn’t looked back. This campaign, the 18-year-old boasts four goals and two assists from six games across the board. Mebude has yet to make an appearance at senior level or make the matchday squad, but he’s highly thought of.
