According to Manchester City boss Mark Hughes, new signing Tal Ben-Haim has already displayed real ambition and the pedigree to show Chelsea were wrong to sell the Israel defender after just one season at the Bridge.

Talking about the defenders £5million City move…

“He’s at an age where he is really ambitious. That’s important for the club and he has come here with a point to prove,” added Sparky.

“He does not feel he had enough games at Chelsea and is looking forward to trying to establish himself here.”

“He has good pedigree and he is certainly going to add to the quality we already have.”

Ben-Haim made his City debut yesterday against League One side Stockport County and all reports suggest his 57 minute outing were very encouraging.

The 26-year-old only managed 17 Chelsea starts during his 12-month stint under Avram Grant.
