Ayes to the right and noes to the left? Not in this case. The VMCers have for the first time in this website’s history given us a unanimous Man of The Match…
James Milner suddenly found an extra gear at The Walkers Stadium in yesterday’s ding dong FA Cup clash. Playing in a central midfield role, the Yorkshireman looked the box to box allrounder we know he can be and he repeatedly took the fight to the home side. Without a doubt, had he not been out there we would have lost the game.
Milner said post match:
“It would be nice to win it for Neil Young. (City’s seriously ill former centre forward). We are desperate to win a trophy – it’s been a long time, and we are geared up to win things…so we will keep working hard and taking it a step at a time. That would be the ultimate way to make a tribute to Neil. We have to finish the job with Leicester first, but hopefully we can keep going.”
