Vassell Injury Gloom for City

City’s bad luck just seems to be never-ending so far this season, and it’s only September !!

Just to add to City’s striker woes, it now seems that we’ll be without striker Darius Vassell for at least another four weeks.

The unlucky Vassell injured knee ligaments in the 1 -0 victory over Arsenal three weeks ago, and Stuart Pearce has just confirmed.

Vassell will not be available for selection until mid-October at the earliest and in his usual fatalistic manner went on to say:

‘Darius is probably about four or five weeks away from a return. You miss any player who isn’t available. Darius gives us pace and power, and another option up front, but we’re in the same boat as any other team in the Premiership. They’ve all got one or two little niggles, and we’re no different. If you think you’re hard done by, you’re not.’

This is obviously not good news as City continue to struggle to find the back of the net with only a solitary Joey Barton penalty so far this season.

Hopefully things can only get better from now on. Time for Sturridge methinks !
