There are more Blues’ forums and related Manchester City internet sites using Vital Man City as their source of news than ever before, courtesy of RSS news feeds.

What are RSS News Feeds?

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as it’s published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

Feeds are also known as RSS. There is some discussion as to what RSS stands for, but most people plump for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.

Not only does our front-page have an RSS enabling feed but all of our forums have an attached RRS new feed icon as well. You will see this just next to the Forum title.

Take a look.

In lay terms, anyone enabling an RSS feed using any, or all of the above forums will be alerted when someone posts a new thread. The same goes when editors publish a front-page article.

One of the sites using our very own RSS news feed is www.mancityfans.com. To visit their site, click here.

The Feed sweep directly below this article perfectly illustrates how the system works.

If you have any questions regarding the RSS news feed, or anything else relating to Vital Manchester City, either leave a message in the comments section directly below this feature, on the sites forums or email me by clicking here .
