Manchester City’s main rivals may have to sell Wayne Rooney just to balance their books.
Last July’s £80million sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid prevented Manchester United posting losses of close to £31m – in a year they won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, however, they are more than likely going to have to sell another player just to keep their heads above the ever rising mountain of debt.
United have borrowed money like no the club in the Premier League and now they are about to reap their just rewards by selling off their prize assets – Wayne Rooney for example.
A leading sports administrator said…
‘United must significantly reschedule their debts otherwise what happened with Ronaldo is bound to happen again. That would mean selling Wayne Rooney.’
What is Rooney worth – £50 – 60 million?
In a world suffering from a shortage of money there are only a handful of clubs out there who could afford this sort of cash. Yes, Manchester City FC.
