Fabrizio Romano of the Guardian says Kevin De Bruyne is close to agreeing a new deal at Manchester City that will see him earn an increase on his £300k-per-week contract.

The 29-year-old has three years remaining on the five-year deal signed in 2018, but the Guardian say De Bruyne has no intention of leaving and is happy to commit the remainder of his career at City.

De Bruyne joined the Sky Blues from Vfl Wolfsburg in 2015 and has gone on to make 238 appearances in all competitions, scoring 59 goals with 100 assists.

The Belgian international has won two Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and one FA Cup in his five years at the Etihad Stadium and can lay claim to being one of the best midfielders in the world.

De Bruyne finds himself linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain as a result of his fine form, but the Guardian don’t believe he’s considering a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

With Pep Guardiola extending his stay at City, De Bruyne is happy to follow suit. Talks have been ongoing since October and are nearing a conclusion, so a deal could be confirmed soon.
