Erling Haaland has enjoyed a dream start to life at Manchester City, scoring 14 goals with one assist from 10 games across the board, so he’s quickly silenced any critics who questioned whether he could handle the Premier League.
Jamie Carragher recently spoke about the 22-year-old and was full of praise for how he’s begun the campaign. He believes Haaland and former City striker Gabriel Jesus, now of Arsenal, have been the best performers in the league so far.

Carragher told talkSPORT: “I think it’s been a brilliant start to the season. I’ve really enjoyed it. Obviously Haaland is the standout (performer). Him and Gabriel Jesus have been absolutely electric and fantastic.”
Haaland joined City off the back of scoring 86 goals with 23 assists from 89 games at Borussia Dortmund, but there were doubts whether he’d replicate such form in England. The Norwegian international has taken the league by storm, however, so he’s undoubtedly the best performer so far.
City scored more goals than any other Premier League club last season and signed one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, so many should have expected Haaland to hit the ground running. Carragher’s praise is well deserved.
