Sergio Aguero has won the Player of the Season award at City Live.

Following all the fan votes over the summer, the event took place yesterday and our 27 year old was duly rewarded for his 26 goal return in just 33 Premier League appearances last season and of course he had six more strikes in the Champions League journey.

Not a bad return at all for the Premier League Golden Boot award winner especially when you factor in the games he missed owing to injury.

Last season also saw him hit and surpass the 100 goal mark in his time at City as he continues his march from club legend towards super legend.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart came in second, with David Silva in third.

Hart also picked up the Premier League Golden Glove award for the most clean sheets and is on the UEFA Save of the Season list for his stop against Lionel Messi and Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 game.

Silva’s third place is well deserved as well with a return of 12 league goals and 11 assists.

For Aguero this is the second time he was the award, last picking it up for his 30 goals return back in 2011-12.

The Elite Development Squad Player of the Year award has also been announced and that went to Angelino.

The young left back was promoted to Patrick Vieira’s EDS squad over last summer and clearly quickly made his mark in his step up to the Under 21 level, playing a huge part in the side as they lifted the International Premier League Cup, looking good in the UEFA Youth League as well.

Impressive performances saw manager Manuel Pellegrini name him on the bench for the game against Sunderland back in December – aged only 17 at the time.

Angelino is now developing further in a loan spell with New York City FC, and since moving to them he has already established himself as a starter alongside the likes of David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo.

The now 18 year old wasn’t in attendance for his award, but did give the club statement where he said.

‘I`m really happy to get this trophy – hard work pays off. The staff here have really helped me improve my defensive aspect. Obviously there is a long way to go but I`m really happy with the season. I`d like to thanks the fans for voting, my family for being behind me and helping me, and everyone at the club.’
