Eric Garcia is expected to leave Manchester City this summer as he’s out of contract at the end of the season and isn’t putting pen to paper on an extension.
Barcelona have long been keen to bring the 20-year-old back to the Camp Nou and Sport (h/t Sport Witness) say they’re finally ‘on the verge’ of procuring his signature. A deal could be finalised ‘in days or weeks’.

Garcia joined City from Barca in 2017 and has gone on to make 25 appearances for the U18s, nine appearances for the U19s, 16 appearances for the U23s and 32 appearances for the first-team (Transfermarkt).
The Spanish international has found himself on the periphery this season, however, amassing only 678 minutes of football in all competitions. Garcia is behind John Stones, Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte in the pecking order, spending the campaign on the bench or out of the matchday squad.
Nathan Ake has returned from injury and could also stand in Garcia’s way of getting playing time too, so it’s not a surprise that he wants out. Barca offered him an escape route earlier this season, but there’s been no official confirmation that Garcia will be returning to Spain.
Sport’s latest report suggests confirmation is near, however.
