Jayden Braaf is expected to leave Manchester City in January as he’s been short of first-team football this season while seeing players of the same age or younger – Liam Delap (aged 17), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (17) and Cole Palmer (18) – getting playing time at senior level over him.
Braaf joined City from PSV Eindhoven in 2018 but has yet to make an appearance at senior level and finds himself behind Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez in the pecking order. Kicker (h/t Sport Witness) say Bayer Leverkusen have the 18-year-old ‘in sight’ while director Rudi Voller admits” “we have a few considerations that we have started.”
Braaf has made 15 appearances with three goals and two assists for the U18s, five appearances with two assists for the U19s and 24 appearances with 12 goals for the U23s. He’s represented the Netherlands national team at U15 (six games, one goal), U17 (12 games, four goals) and U18 level (three games, two goals).
Guardiola has praised Braaf in the past, calling him “incredible” in July 2020, but he also admitted a lot of players were ahead of him which could make playing time difficult to come by. This might boost Leverkusen’s hopes of landing his signature.
