Man City ‘looking’ at 214-goal man to replace 32-year-old, player ‘committed to leaving’ PL club

There is the possibility that Sergio Aguero could leave Manchester City this summer as he’s out of contract in the coming months and is no longer commanding a starting place.

Sport (h/t Sport Witness) say the Sky Blues are ‘looking’ at Harry Kane to potentially replace him next season as the former is ‘committed to leaving’ Tottenham and might be available in the summer transfer window.

Aguero has endured an injury-hit campaign but has remained on the periphery since returning to fitness, so he’s unsure of his future. The 32-year-old is seeking assurances from Pep Guardiola, but his contract is up soon so this might be his last season in Manchester.

Kane would be a great successor for the Argentine international. He’s scored 214 goals and made 46 assists in 324 games for Spurs, notching more than 15 league goals every season since 2013/14 (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old England international has actually scored more top-flight goals in those last eight years than Aguero (145) too (Transfermarkt), but it remains to be seen if Tottenham are accommodating in negotiations.

Chairman Daniel Levy doesn’t want to lose his greatest asset and has Kane tied down for another three years, so he might not be an easy player to acquire. Time will tell if City make any progress this summer.
