Report: Man City willing to pay £120m for £200k-per-week man with 221 goals

ESPN say Manchester City aren’t giving up on their pursuit of Harry Kane and hope they can land his signature for less than Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price this summer, but they’re running out of time to complete a deal.

Spurs have requested £150m for the 28-year-old but City aren’t willing to pay more than £120m with add-ons. Kane’s wage demands will be in excess of £200k-per-week/£10.4m-a-year, so a long term deal could wind up costing the Premier League champions close to £200m.

Kane has scored 221 goals in 336 games for Tottenham, so he’s the perfect player to replace Sergio Aguero, but City only have two weeks to make this deal happen and Spurs aren’t budging on their valuation.

The England international missed Tottenham’s opener with Man City due to a lack of fitness and it’s unknown whether he will play for the club again while wanting a transfer to the Etihad, so it would be good for all parties to have this situation resolved fast.

Kane doesn’t want to stay in North London and is open to joining City, so the two Premier League clubs need to agree a fee to get the ball rolling.
