Rumour has surrounded City’s bid for Eliaquim Mangala for large parts of this summer with it very much a ‘would he wouldn’t he’ type thing.
Although it now appears, if further rumours are correct, that the French international is now destined for the Etihad with various ‘exclusives’ and ‘sources’ today saying that City are now ‘poised’ to sign him with him heading for a medical this week.
Reports from Portugal are saying that a deal with Porto has been agreed.
Should the 23-year-old sign, as seems likely now, will he prove to be the right partner for Vincent Kompany do you think to give City that near watertight defence needed that would make them firm favourites to retain the title?
Of course until a deal is official announced it is not done mind is it….
