Manchester City went four points clear at the Premier League summit after thrashing Leeds United 7-0 on Tuesday evening and Kevin De Bruyne was one of many players who impressed. He was given a player rating of 9/10 by the Manchester Evening News and looks truly back to form.
No player scored more goals, no player had more shots and only Phil Foden created more chances than the 30-year-old at the Etihad Stadium so it wasn’t a surprise that many supporters on social media hailed his performance over the 90 minutes.

De Bruyne has been the most consistent midfielder in the prem for over 5 years now. The man is just in a class of his own

Against Leeds, De Bruyne played for 90 minutes, had 77 touches, completed 81.8% of his 55 passes, created four chances, had nine shots with four hitting the target and two hitting the back of the net, whipped in four crosses, made two tackles, had one interception, made one clearance and had two successful dribbles.
The Belgian international has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals with one assist. De Bruyne has endured an injury hit campaign because of an ankle problem and Covid-19, but it appears he’s back to his best. Leeds couldn’t get near him on Tuesday and Newcastle United might struggle in Sunday’s meeting too.
