Report: Club ‘eye’ Man City’s ‘spectacular’ player, 21 y/o could leave for only £7.3m

Pedro Porro has impressed on loan at Sporting and O Jogo say Real Madrid are paying attention. Los Blancos have their ‘eye’ on the 21-year-old, but he could still end up joining Sporting permanently for €8.5m (£7.3m).

Manchester City may regret attaching a buying option to Porro’s loan as they’ll have to pay a larger sum to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium, but Real’s interest might throw a spanner in the works too.

Porro joined City from Girona for £10m in 2019 and has yet to make an appearance. He’s been loaned out to Real Valladolid and Sporting where he’s starting to make a name for himself.

Sporting manager Rúben Amorim called the Spanish international “spectacular” after his callup to the national team and is delighted with his progress this season, so the Primeira Liga club are sure to triggering his buying option.

City might want to capitalise on the interest by triggering the buyback clause and selling him on to Real, or they might want Porro to challenge for a starting place in their first-team next season.

Either way, it’s hard to see him being allowed to leave permanently for less money than they paid.
