Report: 7 clubs interested in Man City player, Pep Guardiola hopes to keep 25 y/o

|

Gabriel Jesus is out of contract in 2023 and his future at Manchester City is going to be speculated about until he puts pen to paper on an extension or is sold this summer.

The 25-year-old was unhappy about a lack of playing time earlier this season but has since been a regular under Pep Guardiola who is keen to keep him at the Etihad Stadium, so it remains to be seen if he leaves.

City won’t stand in a player’s way if they want out – see Leroy Sane (£54m to Bayern Munich), Ferran Torres (£49.5m to Barcelona) – so Jesus could go if he requested it. Calciomercato (h/t Sport Witness) say the Brazilian international isn’t short of interest either, with seven clubs from four different countries reportedly monitoring his situation.

Arsenal, Newcastle United, Juventus, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keen on Jesus, but there hasn’t been an offer put to City and no suggestion from Guardiola that he’ll be sold.

The 25-year-old has made 40 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 13 goals with 12 assists, so it’s easy to see why clubs are keen. It’s also easy to see why City want to keep him, so time will tell if Jesus is granted a departure this summer.
