Report: Man City man ‘deciding next step’, player is a ‘target for PSG’ and ‘acquisition’ for Barca

Sergio Aguero still hasn’t made up his mind at Manchester City. The 32-year-old is coming to the end of a three-year deal and isn’t close to putting pen to paper on an extension, so he could be on his way out. There is still a deal on the table, however, so nothing is concrete.

David Ornstein of The Athletic says Aguero is ‘deciding his next step’ and could yet remain at City if he trusts the project. It appears he’s attracting interest elsewhere too and is considered a ‘target for Paris-Saint-Germain’ and potential ‘acquisition’ for Barcelona.

The 32-year-old is enduring a forgettable last season at City, making only nine appearances from a possible 34, scoring two goals. He’s amassed just 260/3060 minutes of football across the board, spending most of the campaign out with injury and Covid-19, so this would be a bad way to end his association.

Aguero hasn’t ruled out a return to Spain and Argentina, but PSG would also like to lure him away from the Etihad Stadium. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has the 5ft 7in man on his radar, as do many of Barcelona’s presidential candidates.

City would like to keep Aguero, but his future may not be resolved until the season comes to a close.
