According to a report from ESPN, Man City have refused Barcelona’s enquiries into defender Eric Garcia – maintaining the stance that he is not for sale as the Sky Blues look to keep hold of a potential prospect.

Garcia has only started a handful of Premier League games, but has debatably already shown that he is one for the future – amassing an impressive 93.6% pass success rate out from the back in that period.

Indeed, the 19-year-old also had an impressive game against Fulham during our 4-0 FA Cup win back in January – winning most of his ground duels whilst completing 3/4 long balls.

Should we play Garcia or sign a new centre-back?

As a ball-playing centre-half, it appears Garcia has a very high ceiling, evident from the Fulham game – where he completed 87/91 passes over 90 minutes whilst losing possession just five times according to SofaScore.

Given these numbers, it’s clear to see why Pep Guardiola does not want to let Garcia go – and these City supporters appear to agree.
